Meier honored by Chamber
Paul Meier was honored by the Chilton Chamber of Commerce as its 2012 Citizen of the Year during a reception held March 27 at the Chilton Eagles Club.
He received the honor for his long-time record of service to the Chilton area community. Meier has been active as a school board leader, coach, church member and chamber member in the Chilton area community. Meier told the audience that he has always been taught to "give back" to the community and he wished for others to learn of the real joys of giving one's self to the service of others.
He said that serving the community is an extension of his Christian faith with calls on people to love God and love their neighbors. Meier said "loving" one's neigbhor means actively doing things for them.
He encouraged those present to do all they could to make their communities better places.
Meier said he was humbled by his inclusion in the list of the many people on the Citizen of the Year list who have been honored for their service to Chilton.
