Wine Tasting Featuring Parallel 44

Parallel 44 is coming to Vern’s Cheese and bringing a variety of wines for your sampling pleasure! Winemaker Steve Johnson from Parallel 44 will be here to share his knowledge of their wines. We hope you can join us! Here are a few of the wines being featured:

Drink Pink!
Drink Pink! received its name from the common reference to rosé wines as “pink” wines. Once thought of as an inferior wine, in recent years, rosés have seen a resurgence in popularity. This aromatic, full bodied, sweet wine is sure to quench your thirst.

Nouveau Rouge
Nouveau Rouge was originally made in 2007, when Parallel 44 first opened their doors. The 2018 vintage is made from a blend of Wisconsin reds like Petite Pearl and Frontenac (note: the blend of grapes used has changed over time, however, the flavor has generally stayed as a fruit forward red that is smooth and low in tannins.) The fruit forward structure, deep color, and soft finish make this one of the easiest drinking reds you can find. This wine shows the evolving taste preferences of modern wine drinkers who crave a wine that is approachable, balanced, and full of flavor.

Bubbler
This semi-sweet, fruity and balanced effervescent wine is uniquely Wisconsin, just like the word “Bubbler.” If you are a sparkling wine lover, Bubbler is sure to become your new favorite with its tropical fruit and citrus notes. More fruit forward than your typical sparkling wine, Bubbler is smooth and easy on the finish.

Red Door
A dry red with earthy notes and a smooth finish.

White Door
This dry, crisp, light bodied white bursts with citrus and peach expressions.
